In Celebration:
A Women’s Series

In Celebration, the women of the series stand tall and reflect an inter spirit wrapped in the jewels of self-reliance and confidence. My love of prehistoric art, grand opera, contemporary art, and architecture influenced the depiction of these female forms. The stylized form and lack of facial features represent all women regardless of heritage or culture. Each is distinctive while portraying various personalities, dispositions, and attitudes. The figures are colorful, bejeweled, innocent, romantic, alluring, contemplative, fanciful, and at times bizarre but always intriguing. Unique patinas, mirrored bronze, gemstones, crystals, specialty papers, and transparent materials are used to dramatize women's strength, grace, diversity, and uniqueness.
